They are seeking a network engineer to design, implement and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructures for a fast-paced hedge fund environment. The candidate must be able to work independently and interface with all levels of staff. Hands-on experience is required in the following areas:
Network configuration - Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANS, Routing, QoS, and Network monitoring
VLSM
Load Balancers
Multicast technologies, including PIM sparse-mode.
Enterprise/Carrier class network switches and routers
Layer 2/3 network designs accounting for Spanning Tree and Access/Distribution/Core tiered architectures.
eBGP and iBGP, OSPF routing protocols, and means of redistributing OSPF, BGP, RIP, and Static Routes
Firewall and remote access solutions including Access-lists, NAT, SSL and IPSEC VPNs. Preferably on PIX or NetScreen platforms.
Sniffer analysis
Preference for candidates with knowledge of the following:
DWDM, SONET, and high speed line-of-site technologies
VoIP, H.323, and QoS
Wireless
Wan Compression
Experience with configuration management, event, and log monitoring platforms
Knowledge of scripting or programming languages, preferably including Perl
Familiarity with Linux and Windows OS Fundamentals
